Session 1 Sunday

pictures of today

Campers are finally here and Camp Seven Hills in in session! Incoming campers and their families battled the rain during move-in, but it didn’t stop the excitement that the start of camp brings!

This week our programs include My 1st Time, a short session for brand new campers; Pony Pals, Tack and Ride, and Walk, Trot, and Canter working in our horse barn; On Belay learning the ropes course; Oompa Loompas whipping up some candy in the kitchens; Sorcery making magic; Hidden Treasure finding where X marks the spot; and our CITs (Counselors in Training) beginning their long stay on the road to become counselors!

After moving into their units, campers began a tour of camp with their counselors and new bunkmates. They worked as teams to decide what activities they want to participate in this week, as well as set some guidelines for each other and themselves to help this week run smoothly. Campers moved to the dining hall where they enjoyed a relaxed dinner of pizza and ice cream for dessert.

Our main event of the night was our opening campfire. All of camp moved inside to gather around our rainy-day version of a campfire, and staff took turns introducing new campers and reminding old ones of our campfire protocol: loud sing-a-long songs and on-the-fly skits. We ended our night with quiet nighttime songs and a huge friendship circle, and are looking forward to getting into the swing of things tomorrow! To see pictures from tonight, click here.
