Session 1 Tuesday

Camp Seven Hills had a nice warm sunny day for all sorts of activities today! First Time campers and Tack and Ride hit the pool right after a breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. At the same time, Walk, Trot, and Canter took some time away from the horses to boat on our lake. Across camp, our 7 Hills Sorcery program campers were working to create their own Hogwarts house wardrobes at Arts and Crafts, and Pony Pals took off at sports with a horse-themed relay race.

Some programs got the chance to share a cookout meal in their units today! Instead of trekking to the dining hall, First Time and Oompa Loompa campers helped make a campfire and made a meal plus dessert. Oompa Loompa made pie iron pizzas with smores for dessert, and First Time continued the theme with a smores cake, which was absolutely delicious.

First Time campers got some time in the boats in the lake today looking for signs of Molly–the purple and pink whale that lives in Camp Seven Hills’ lake. Although some were nervous, everyone made it through their canoe trip without taking a swim. Some even felt Molly say hello when she gently rocked the boats.

Before dinner, programs from all over camp were learning archery, swimming, boating, playing quidditch–a typical day at camp! Walk, Trot, Canter had a hilarious time trying to keep their footing at shaving cream twister, and Hidden Treasure campers were introduced to the low ropes course. Our dinner today was Hogwarts themed thanks to our Sorcery program, and everyone was assigned a house table to sit at. There were reports of a troll, but that was taken care of.

After dinner was another camper’s choice, where campers can separate from their units and choose an activity. Tonight’s choices were water sports and activities at arts and crafts. The only units that didn’t participate were our First Time campers and Counselors in Training, who instead had a closing campfire for our short stay brownies. See pictures from today here.
