Today is sure to be a day campers look back on for years to come! It began with another breakfast that stayed on this week’s theme of Battle of the Colors: red eggs with blue hashbrowns! Units got right into activities afterwards.
Cupcake Wars spent some time making and decorating their treats in the dining hall, and faced off against each other for a very tasty competition featuring some guest judges. Tally Ho tried out some kickball and spud at sports, while Highland visited Feather at Nature and Plainsman learned archery from Catch.
Highland later moved to a fashion show in drama, while Brownie Lodge ruled the sports hill with a soapy slip n’ slide!! Meanwhile, our Climbing Master group got an almost all-day field trip to a high ropes course, led by the awesome ropes director Luna.
After lunch, Saddle Savvy took turns riding their horses around the barn and cooling them down with an obstacle course. Brownie Lodge made Molly the Whales out of paper plates, and Pine Hollow created critters out of pine cones at Nature. Sugarbush had quite the laugh playing charades at Drama, while Tally Ho took aim at Archery. Cupcake Wars went to get even more sweets at their own field trip to a local bakery!
Once Climbing Masters came back from their trip, they took some time to relax and then moved to Arts and Crafts. There, they played a drawing game describing a character to one person while their back was turned, and seeing how close the drawing was to the real thing! Brownie Lodge made some pinecone flowers at Nature with Feather, and Tally Ho made rehearsed some plays at Drama.
After dinner, Tuba, our Programming Director, ran a different sort of camper’s choice. All four of our activities today were hosted at sports, and campers could cycle through hula hooping, basketball, cup stacking, and gaga. All activities were a chance for both red and blue teams to earn some points!
