Session 3 Thursday

Our last day for not only session 3 campers, but also for our 2 week campers! Many campers took on road runners and polar bear swim since it was their last chance! After breakfast, while Brownie Lodge colored outside, the Climbing Masters program took some time off the ropes to play shaving cream twister. It may have started as an organized game, but it quickly turned into an all-out shaving cream party.

The brownies got a special surprise with a Molly-themed scavenger hunt. They walked around camp to find 12 specially-addressed letters and Molly the Whale plushies for each camper! Over at Drama, the CITs put on some singing performances for their audience of younger campers.

Tally Ho and Sugarbush both had their lunch as a cookout over the fire today! Sugarbush made some pie iron grilled cheese and topped that off with a side of mac n cheese, while Tally Ho made some pie iron pizzas. Tally Ho followed it up with one huge brownie made in a Dutch oven! They weren’t the only ones making brownies today! The Cupcake Wars program had fun baking cupcake brownies, with all the fixins–marshmallows, graham crackers, and sprinkles.

Over at Arts and Crafts, the Saddle Savvy group made their own horses out of pool noodles and yarn–and they look so cute! They quickly moved onto riding real horses up at the barn. The horses got a special visit from the farrier (an expert in hoof care) today, which the campers were able to learn about.

Some counselors in Sugarbush were extremely good sports today and volunteered themselves to get pied in the face at jeopardy! Red and blue teams faced off to answer the most correct questions about a counselor. Every correct answer was a chance for a camper to do the pie-ing. At the same time, the Na’maste group had a spa day, complete with face masks, cucumbers, and a health talk from our very own Dr. Jackie. Our climbing groups faced their last ropes challenge as they climbed up a pole, crossed the burma bridge, and flew down the zipline!

Dinner tonight featured one more challenge between red and blue–a fashion show! Our spirit teams strutted down the dining hall in theme-appropriate outfits. Our closing campfire had to take a different a different form tonight because of the rain, but everyone still had a chance to take part in the camp traditions. See pictures of today here!
