It was definitely a wet day here at camp, but even the weather can’t stop the fun! With our rain boots on and our jackets at the ready, it was time to head to the dining hall for a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and sausages.
Morning activities consisted of swimming for our Pony Pals, archery with the JCIT’s and nature for our My First Time campers. Lunch today was a favourite amongst our campers and counsellors…taco’s!!! We also had a side of watermelon, which took a whole 2 seconds to eat before it was gone.
After lunch, our campers waited underneath the map sign to head into the tuck shop, as our JCIT’s enjoyed a relaxing hour creating crafts of their choosing, from friendship bracelets to painting emo Molly’s! As this was happening, our Highland campers headed to the Nature Hut to paint pine cones, with two of our counsellors (Catch and Eggo) sticking with this week’s theme of Olympics and representing friends they have in other countries! Go England…and Canada!
Over at the barn, our Tack and Ride campers continued to ride, whilst also completing their barn chores for the evening. As this was happening, our Climbing Masters hit the high ropes course and what an exciting time it was. For those that have a sweet tooth, it was the perfect afternoon activity with our My First Time campers making their very own worms and dirt. Now this may sound slightly gross, but it was in fact delicious, with the activity consisting of eating lots of ice-cream, with chocolate sauce and gummy worms/Oreos! Dancing, chalk drawing and rock painting were further activities that were completed this afternoon, before we headed down to the dining hall for chicken nuggets and fries!
After dinner, we may have had a dance party as we waited for the rain to pass before heading into camper’s choice, which consisted of; Happy Salmon games, karaoke and speed drawing.
