The wait is over…it’s the FIRST OFFICIAL DAY OF CAMP here at Seven Hills and we couldn’t be more excited! After 10 long months of anticipation, it was finally time to welcome our first-session campers to a fun-packed day!

As soon as our staff finished their lunch and made their way down to the units, our campers began to meet their counsellors for the week and jump right into the spirit of camp! For our session 1 campers, the theme this week is “It’s Wild and Wacky”, which fits perfectly for our theme this year of “Forge your Path…Find your Place at Girl Scout Summer Camp”.

With counsellors greeting their campers, tours of camp taking place and pizza being the main course for dinner tonight, it was a super fun first day for everyone here at Seven Hills. And of course, it wouldn’t be an opening day at camp without our first campfire of the summer! Skits were created and songs were sung and it was quite possibly, the perfect end to a perfect day – especially with the sun setting across our lake…perhaps even Molly the Whale was singing songs along with us!

We know it can be hard for your campers to be away from home, but please don’t worry, your campers are in great hands (as you can see with the photo’s taken over on our Flickr page). Photo’s and blog posts will be uploaded each day so that you can stay connected with what your campers are up to! Whether that be making friendship bracelets, learning a new sport, making s’mores by the campfire or creating bonds that will last a lifetime, these moments will be captured and we cannot wait to share those very moments with you.
